Celebration at St Mary's Catholic Cathedral in Edinburgh| Small Scottish Destination Wedding

Edinburgh is a wonderful destination for couples travelling to Scotland to get married, whether they're planning a large celebration or something small and intimate. This lovely couple travelled from the United States with their closest family to celebrate their wedding in the heart of Edinburgh. Their ceremony took place at St Mary's Catholic Cathedral on York Place, one of the city's beautiful historic churches and just a short walk from Edinburgh's New Town. With only their nearest and dearest present, the ceremony felt personal, relaxed and full of meaning. Afterwards, we headed into central Edinburgh for photographs of the newlyweds, using the city's historic streets and architecture as the backdrop. The great things about a small Edinburgh wedding – beautiful locations are never far away, and there's no need to spend hours travelling between them. We finished with a few informal photographs at the pub, which suited the spirit of their celebration perfectly. Intimate weddings like this are always lovely to photograph. With a small group of family and friends, there is plenty of space for genuine moments, conversations and emotion.

I document those moments naturally while also making time for relaxed portraits of the two of you that capture something of Edinburgh, the city you've chosen for your wedding. For this couple, travelling from the U.S. to marry in Scotland was about keeping things simple: their closest family, a beautiful cathedral ceremony and time together exploring Edinburgh as newlyweds.
