South Queensferry is one of Scotland's most picturesque coastal towns and a wonderful location for a wedding. Famous for its stunning waterfront setting and spectacular views of the Forth bridges, it offers a unique backdrop for couples looking to celebrate their wedding day by the sea. Situated on the waterfront, Orocco Pier is one of the most popular wedding venues in South Queensferry. With panoramic views across the Firth of Forth towards the iconic red Forth Rail Bridge and the neighbouring road bridges, it provides a beautiful setting for both intimate and larger celebrations.
One of the advantages of an Orocco Pier wedding is the variety of portrait locations available within a short walk of the venue. Depending on the tide and weather conditions, couples can take advantage of the shoreline, harbour views, historic streets, and of course the famous Forth bridges. Even on windy Scottish days, there are sheltered spots nearby that work beautifully for relaxed wedding portraits. This particular wedding brought together family and friends for a joyful celebration by the sea. Although it was a breezy day, we were fortunate to stay dry and make the most of the stunning surroundings. Throughout the day there were plenty of smiles, laughter, happy tears, and all the little moments that make a wedding unique. As a documentary wedding photographer, I focus on capturing genuine emotions and authentic moments as they naturally unfold. These are the memories that become increasingly precious with time, allowing couples to relive not only how their wedding looked but how it felt. Below are some of my favourite photographs from this wonderful Orocco Pier wedding in South Queensferry.
