Cringletie House Hotel, near Peebles in the Scottish Borders, is surrounded by gardens, woodland and beautiful countryside. 

 The house has plenty of character, while the grounds give everyone space to relax and enjoy the celebration. This was a wonderfully happy wedding, surrounded by family and friends. I photographed the day as it unfolded, looking for all the little interactions happening between people — laughter, embraces, conversations and the quieter moments in between.

A wedding at Cringletie House - one of the things I enjoy about photographing weddings here is the variety. The house and interiors give the photographs one atmosphere, while stepping outside into the gardens and countryside creates something completely different. We made time for a few relaxed portraits around the grounds, without turning the wedding into a photoshoot or keeping the couple away from their guests for too long.

The rest of the day was simply about following what was happening. That is always the part I enjoy most — photographing the people, relationships and atmosphere that make one wedding completely different from another.

The photographs below tell the story of the celebration from beginning to end, rather than showing only a selection of portraits. For me, that is what wedding photography is really about: remembering not only where you were, but the people who were there and how the day felt.
