One of the things I love about pre-wedding couple sessions is discovering places that are already part of a couple's life together. A beautiful location doesn't always have to be somewhere famous – sometimes the best place for photographs is simply somewhere you already love spending time. For this session we headed to Beecraigs Country Park in West Lothian, a favourite place for this couple to walk with their dog. Rather than treating it as a formal photo shoot, we simply went for a walk together and photographed something they would normally enjoy doing anyway. With woodland, open paths and plenty of natural scenery to explore, Beecraigs gave us lots of variety without needing to travel between different locations. And of course, their dog came along too and very happily became part of the photographs – including a few portraits of his own! This is exactly how I like couple sessions to feel: relaxed, informal and personal. We walk, chat and explore while I photograph the natural interaction between you. Bringing your dog can make the experience even more relaxed, especially when your usual walks together are already an important part of your life. Pre-wedding sessions are also a lovely opportunity for us to spend some time together before the wedding. By the time the wedding day arrives, you've already experienced being photographed by me and know that there is no need to worry about constantly posing for the camera.

After our Beecraigs adventure, these two went on to celebrate their wedding at the beautiful Dunglass Estate in East Lothian.
