The Balmoral Hotel is one of these iconic towers you can see from Calton Hill in Edinburgh. It does attract attention by the big clock seen from the hill and it is always lit up at night. On the grounds of Princess Street the Balmoral offers a grand entrance to everyone. It was however not my first wedding here. I enjoy coming back to the venues I have not visited for a while, so I can simply re-discover them. My favourite part of the Balmoral is the roof! Yes, the roof! It is allowed to get up there for some wedding photography. It is a very unique perspective for photos and of course some great views at Edinburgh and its beauties.
These two lovely people were a great pleasure to photograph on a rather cold day. We got up on the roof and also took a little walk in the nearby Princess Gardens. I like photographing outdoors, where I can use the surroundings in my wedding photos. It shows a bit of the location also sets the mood for the images. Natural light is also my favourite source of light for my wedding photography.
