Have you ever been to Assembly Roxy in Edinburgh? This was my first time photographing a wedding there—and what a brilliant surprise it was! Located right in the heart of the city, Assembly Roxy is not only a unique wedding venue but also a performance space during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It’s full of character and atmosphere, making it an amazing place for a fun and lively wedding celebration.
The venue’s dramatic interiors—with high ceilings, arched windows, and a layout that feels like a grand castle hall—create the perfect setting for a memorable day. There’s even a stage for live bands, giving the reception the energy of a live gig. And let me tell you, this wedding didn’t disappoint—non-stop dancing, laughter, and such a warm, joyful vibe throughout the day.
As a reportage-style wedding photographer in Edinburgh, my focus is always on capturing real moments as they happen. From the quiet glances to the wild dance moves, I documented the day in an unobtrusive, natural way—letting the story unfold through candid images. These two lovely souls were such a pleasure to photograph, and I’m so glad I could be part of their incredible day.
