A Wedding at Marine North Berwick

Marine North Berwick is a beautiful coastal wedding venue in East Lothian, overlooking the sea and golf course in North Berwick. Formerly known as the Macdonald Marine Hotel, it offers elegant interiors together with wonderful outdoor surroundings for natural wedding photography.

For this wedding, the couple chose two very different East Lothian locations. Their ceremony took place at Seton Collegiate Church, a historic chapel surrounded by woodland near Longniddry, before everyone travelled along the coast to Marine North Berwick for the reception.

Seton Collegiate Church is quite hidden from the road, with a short walk through the woodland leading to the church. Inside, the old stonework, tall windows and beautiful natural light created an atmospheric setting for the ceremony. Outside, the greenery surrounding the church gave us plenty of space for photographs before leaving for North Berwick.

Wedding Photography at Marine North Berwick

Once we arrived at Marine North Berwick, the atmosphere changed from the quiet surroundings of Seton Collegiate Church to a relaxed seaside celebration. The hotel’s coastal location gave us plenty of variety for photographs, from the grounds around the Marine to the nearby golf course and views towards the coast.

Rather than spending a long time away from the wedding, we used the surroundings for a relaxed portrait session before the couple returned to their guests and celebrations.

It was a wonderfully happy day with beautiful weather, plenty of emotion and all those little unscripted moments that make every wedding different. I photographed the day naturally as it unfolded, while also making time for relaxed portraits that showed the couple in the surroundings they had chosen for their wedding.
