As a Scotland documentary wedding photographer, I love when couples choose hidden gems for their special day. There are so many lesser-known but stunning locations throughout Scotland, and Seton Collegiate Church (also known as Seton Chapel) is one of them. Tucked away near the road to Aberlady, it’s easy to miss unless you know where to look — a short walk through peaceful woodland leads you to this historic chapel.
Seton Chapel offers beautiful green surroundings and impressive architecture, including tall stained glass windows that create a magical light inside. It's a perfect spot for intimate wedding ceremonies during the warmer months.
For this wedding, the couple combined their ceremony at Seton Collegiate Church with a reception in the seaside town of North Berwick at the Macdonald Marine Hotel. The setting was fantastic — with stunning coastal views, direct beach access, and even space for portraits on the nearby golf course. A perfect little escape for the bride and groom, and a photographer's dream!
It was a day filled with joy, great weather, and meaningful moments — exactly the kind of story I love to capture through my documentary wedding photography in Scotland. From emotional glances to unplanned laughs, it was a pleasure to be part of such a memorable day.
