A pre-wedding photo shoot is a wonderful way to celebrate your engagement before the wedding day. It gives you the chance to spend some relaxed time together, become comfortable in front of the camera, and create beautiful photographs in one of Edinburgh's many scenic locations.
For this session we chose Blackford Hill, one of Edinburgh's hidden gems. Sitting above the city, it offers beautiful views across Edinburgh towards Arthur's Seat, Edinburgh Castle and the surrounding hills. Every season brings something different, making it a fantastic location for engagement photography throughout the year.
On this particular day the weather reminded us that we were in Scotland! The climb was muddy, the rain came and went, and thick mist covered the city below. But rather than spoiling the experience, it created a wonderfully atmospheric backdrop. The changing weather gave the photographs a soft, romantic feel that perfectly suited the couple and made the session feel even more memorable.
One of the things I love about photographing couples outdoors is that every session is unique. We don't simply stop and pose for photographs; instead we explore, chat and enjoy the location together. The result is a collection of relaxed, natural images that tell the story of your time together.
If you're planning your wedding in Edinburgh, a pre-wedding photo shoot is also a great opportunity to discover some of the city's beautiful locations before the big day. Whether you prefer dramatic hilltop views, historic streets or peaceful gardens, Edinburgh offers endless possibilities for engagement and couple photography.
