A wedding at a museum? That was certainly my first thought when I heard this celebration would take place at the National Museum of Scotland in the heart of Edinburgh. Until then, I had no idea the museum hosted weddings and private events — complete with elegant reception spaces and spectacular views across the city skyline, including Edinburgh Castle.
This unique Edinburgh wedding venue provided an incredible setting for a truly memorable day. Guests enjoyed drinks on the museum's rooftop terrace, taking in panoramic views over the city while celebrating with family and friends. From the striking architecture and elegant interiors to the rooftop views, there was no shortage of beautiful locations for wedding photography.
It was a warm summer day filled with laughter, love, and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. The bride and groom spent the day surrounded by their favourite people, creating exactly the kind of genuine moments that make documentary wedding photography so rewarding.
As an Edinburgh wedding photographer, I approach every wedding quietly and unobtrusively, blending into the background and capturing the story as it naturally unfolds. From the big celebrations to the small interactions that often go unnoticed, my aim is to preserve not only how the day looked, but how it felt.
The National Museum of Scotland is a fantastic choice for couples looking for an Edinburgh wedding venue that combines history, character, and some of the best city views available. It was a real pleasure to document this wonderful celebration and capture a collection of photographs full of emotion, atmosphere, and unforgettable memories.
