Night at the museum… or wedding at the museum? That was my first thought when I heard this celebration would take place at the National Museum of Scotland! I had no idea there was a private events space within the building, complete with stunning views across Edinburgh—including the Castle.

This wedding was such a joy to photograph. The bride and groom, and their guests enjoyed drinks out on the museum’s rooftop balcony, soaking in the skyline. From the elegant indoor spaces to the open-air views, there was so much variety for wedding photography—perfect for my documentary style that focuses on natural light and real moments.

It was a warm summer day filled with laughter, love, and a relaxed, joyful vibe. I approach each wedding as if I’m one of the guests—quietly blending in, capturing candid interactions, and telling the full story through small details and big emotions. This fantastic couple made my job easy with their energy and connection, and the National Museum of Scotland offered such a unique backdrop right in the heart of Edinburgh.
