Bruntsfield is one of my favourite parts of Edinburgh. I used to live nearby and still enjoy returning for a coffee in one of the independent cafés before wandering through the neighbourhood. With the open space of Bruntsfield Links, views towards Arthur's Seat and Edinburgh Castle, and the beautiful Victorian architecture, it has a relaxed atmosphere that makes it a wonderful part of the city for a wedding.
Tucked away behind the historic hotel, Bruntsfield Hotel offers a charming and intimate setting for weddings in Edinburgh. The ceremony for this lovely couple took place in the hotel's bright glass pavilion overlooking the gardens, surrounded by family and close friends. It was a joyful and emotional celebration filled with laughter, happy tears and excitement for the day ahead.
After the ceremony we made the most of Bruntsfield's location. Just a short walk away, Bruntsfield Links and The Meadows provide beautiful green spaces with wonderful views towards Arthur's Seat. These iconic Edinburgh landmarks create a relaxed backdrop for natural wedding portraits without travelling far from the venue.
One detail I still remember from the day was the incredible wedding cake created by The Chocolate Tree, located just around the corner from the hotel. It was almost too beautiful to cut and tasted just as amazing as it looked.
My approach to wedding photography is always centred around telling the story of the day as it naturally unfolds. Rather than directing every moment, I quietly observe and capture the genuine emotions, the spontaneous laughter, the hugs, the conversations and all the little moments that often pass unnoticed. While you enjoy celebrating with your family and friends, I document the memories that will become even more meaningful in the years to come.
If you're planning a wedding in Edinburgh, I'd love to hear about your plans. You can also explore more Edinburgh wedding venues I've photographed,
