I like the Bruntsfield area, all the little coffee shops and little unique shops. I used to live there and have really good memories of sipping coffee in one of the cafes. Actually till today, if passing there by, I pop in in one of them to grab that nice cup to take away or if rainy, sit in and enjoy a nice latte.
I also discovered a wedding venue there at Bruntsfield Hotel. The mighty building overlooks the links which connect with the meadows, the part where you can practise your golfing skills or like myself watch out for the golf balls. While walking there you have a great view at the Arthur's seat in the background and the Edinburgh castle.
The venue itself is nicely hidden in the back of the hotel in the nice garden. The ceremony took place in a cosy glass house, where the lovely bride and groom declared their love in the presence of their families and friends. Joyful, emotional ceremony it was! Then great celebrations afterwards with the most amazing cake I have ever seen made by the Chocolate Tree, only located few steps away from the venue. Well, they do create goodies to make your mouth water!
Every wedding that I photograph I document as a story that unfolds in front of my camera. Everyone is being themselves, just enjoying the celebrations and I get a chance to be a part of it by recording that special day with the photographs that will last a life time. My photojournalistic approach lets me capture the fine moments and things that are actually not seen by the couple. The bride and groom together with the guests simply enjoy the day and are unaware of the photographer being among them.
For the bride and groom portraits we decided to include the Edinburgh icons, Arthur's Seat and strolling at the meadows with some touches of the city buildings.
I really enjoy watching the first dance and then all the guests moving on the dance floor. It always puts a big smile on my face!
