That was a great day! It felt like going for an adventure - why?! How often does it happen that in order to get to the wedding ceremony you have to take a boat! The wedding preparations and the reception took place in South Queensferry, which is a former Royal Burgh in West Lothian and now part of the City of Edinburgh in Scotland. It is also a home of the iconic Forth Railway Bridge.
The bride was getting ready at her parents' house and the groom with his crew and their guests gathered at Hawes Inn in South Queensferry before getting on the boat.
Inchcolm Abbey is located at the centre of the Inchcolm Island in the Firth of Forth. On the way to the island you can see some sea lions. Incholm Island is also a fantastic opportunity for wedding photography and beyond. The landscape or rather the seascape goes well with the historic feel of the abbey. It really is a great location to photograph.
After the wedding ceremony the guests had a chance to explore the abbey and island for a bit. The wedding celebrations then continued at Orocco Pier. Orocco Pier is a cosy wedding venue, over-looking the sea, which attracts many couples. From all levels you have a look at the sea and the iconic Forth Railway Bridge.
I really enjoyed the video surprise that their friends prepared for the lovely couple. Everyone was laughing really hard while watching it. I managed to capture some great moments. That's what wedding photojournalism is all about, about capturing the candid moments and emotions. Reportage wedding photography is about telling stories that can be relived by looking at the photography. It is like having something that never gets old and always will wake some emotions in the soul.
