Very well hidden I would say is the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh. Literally in the city centre with an access to the Queens Gardens which reminds me of a secret garden because you need a key to enter it and it is surround by hedges and trees.
The rooms are spacious and have lost of natural light coming through the windows or the ceiling windows. Very joyful and emotions filled day it was for everyone at this wedding. All has been very well planned and organised. The weather was nice, so these two gentlemen and I could access the secret gardens and take some wedding photos there. They both looked smashing.
When we met up at the beginning of the year for their couple photo session at the top of Calton Hill, the city offered us a rather cold day. Well it was January and it was cold and windy and rainy. But nonetheless the photos came out great.
Their wedding day was fortunately a nice, dry day with so many great moments captured. The ceremony took place in the college's library. It is a really great room, with chairs in the middle and shelves of books on the sides, including the balcony.
The guests were exploring the building during the drinks reception. There are lots of great paintings to look at and there were lots of flowers around which made the rooms look even friendlier.
I loved the speeches and the dances. These parts of the wedding celebrations seem to make me laugh the most while photographing. There are some many emotions that accompany every wedding. I love to capture them. I do not only want to show how great everyone looks while coming to a wedding but also how you felt that day. The little smile, the big laughters, one or two tears, that face while you were dancing or the dancing step you missed. These all are the moments that make each wedding unique to the couple and I simply try to capture it naturally as it happens. After many years I believe these will be the real treasures to cherish. Documentary wedding photography or also known as reportage wedding photography is the way I photograph. Some of the frames from that lovely wedding below.
