Pollock Halls at the University of Edinburgh

The wedding was at St. Leonard’s Hall, a stately mansion set within the grounds of Pollock Halls. It is an amazingly central wedding location in Edinburgh, set right next to Arthur’s Seat, that not many people know about. The building is normally frequented by first-year Edinburgh University Students, but when they are away, it’s possible to hire this venue for your wedding.

Queen Street Gardens

You need to be a special key-holder to get into Queen Street Gardens in Edinburgh.
Not many people have access, only the local residents that live along the street.
Once you are through the steel gates you enter a paradise. Not many people know it has a pond with an island in the middle!
I enjoyed photographing this wedding in such an undiscovered spot. Some beautiful scenic shots were taken beneath the trees.

Rustic wedding

Mavis Hall Park in Humbie was a perfect place to have a wedding. I am sad to hear that they are closing their doors (or Hanging up their Wellies as they say). This makes this wedding even more special, as one of the last weddings that was photographed there.
It is a stunningly rural and green park, with a lake and a marquee, lovely on a summer’s day.

The romance of the Prestonfield House Hotel

Prestonfield House is nestled in a secluded area of parkland right next to Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh.
It is known for being Edinburgh’s most glamorous hotel, with impeccable service, amazing food. A stunning and fantastically indulgent place to hold a wedding! There are many peacocks in the grounds. They welcomed my arrival. There is also at least one highland cow roaming around, probably more.

Love in the Botanic Gardens of Edinburgh

The Botanic Gardens was an idyllic setting that day for the wedding. It is a gloriously romantic setting, full of greenery, enchanted lakes, and scottish squirrels. The couple that was getting married that day had a wonderful time, as you can see in the photographs. Here they are in the Oriental Garden, known as the Chinese Hillside. It is so wonderful how Chinese plants can actually grow in Scotland, can you believe it? The Chinese Hillside has windy pathways, leading to a waterfall which pours into a pond down below, full of goldfish. If you enjoy flora and fauna (squirrels) you will love the Botanic Gardens here in Edinburgh.

Wedding at the Edinburgh Castle

People from all over the world come to Edinburgh to get married. There are many of wedding venues throughout the city. One of them is at the top of the rock, which is the Edinburgh Castle itself.
These lovely people also came from abroad to exchange their vows in the St. Margarets Chapel.

Steampunk Wedding at Traquair House, Peeblesshire

The Traquair House was originally a hunting lodge for the kings and queens of Scotland. These days Traquair House is a fabulous wedding venue. This lovely couple got married over there Steampunk style! Below are some of the moments of their big day.

Another lovely couple marched onto the Royal Mile!

Edinburgh City Chambers also host wedding ceremonies. The inside has a fantastic maze of the staircases that gives a great perspective for photographs. That lovely couple tied the knot over there in of the chambers. They also marched out onto the iconic Royal Mile to stir things up and get snapped by the strangers. Here some of my favourite snaps!

St. Mary’s Cathedral in Edinburgh

The City of Edinburgh is a wedding destination for many. This lovely couple flew over from the U.S to tie the knot in Edinburgh in St.Mary’s Cathedral. Just the closest family joined the bride and the groom for the ceremony. After the ceremony we headed out to the city centre to get some shots.
